Reviews
Guy knows his stuff and it shows. He explains clearly and works through from basics up to mind-warping complexity. It gets a little intense and confusing at times but that’s because he throws a lot of education at you in compact bites.

If you already have a general understanding of procedural material creation, you should be able to use Blender same way you would use Substance Designer after finishing this course.
However if that’s your goal you’ll soon find out that Blender is the Gimp of procedural material authoring and that substance just flows better.
Nonetheless this is an excellent course. I’d give an additional star because the guy sounds like Winnie the Pooh.

I worked halfway through the tutorials so far and I have to say they are probably the best content on procedural textures out there. Sure there are great free resources (BlenderGuru, CGmatter, Syncretic 3d, …) but no place has a complete course to get you started on an actual usable level. This is great for that. I wish the math behind some of the nodes was illustrated a little more detailed and clearer. Other than that it’s well structured and a complete package. Well worth the money. Thank you Joakim.

The presenter did a great job with this material. Unfortunately, a few of the nodes have changed and don’t match up since recording and current LTS (2.83.4). So, I have had to stop the video a few times to find out how to translate the differences.
