Here are renders of my final submission. Worked in some more detail and contrast and tweaked the lighting to show more of those details off.
Current state render with some light and shadow testing. getting a bit more detail in the beard and asymmetry in the face.
This is my original concept sketch for the challenge. I wanted to get really comfortable with the character I was trying to portray before jumping into sculpting the form. I referenced some facial photos to get the base face down but mostly improvised the hair and clothing.
Just spending some time detailing the face and tweaking the nose a bit. Had a second set of eyes on this session which was nice. I helps to have input on this stuff. Helps to keep me from getting to attached with the features I’ve already got down. My wife sat with me for a bit on this one and it was a huge help. She had the audacity to tell me tome things were feeling off and she was totally right!
