The Debris asset is an nCloth and nParticle emitter. This is used for quick simulations of brick and wood particles for general purpose debris. The big wood fragments are nCloth and will bounce and react to colliders accurately. The smaller wood bits and concrete blocks act as spheres to save on calculation time.
The details are in the video, this is a very simple asset to pick up and start using, even if you have limited experience with maya dynamics. Just make sure the set playback to “every frame” and you’re good to go.
