Making Lighting Scenes work in Current Maya Versions
The FlippedNormals Lighting Scenes were made using the Legacy Render Layers. While render layers have been updated in Maya to offer more flexibility in later versions, the legacy render layers are far better for the Lighting Scenes, since you can swap between light setups in a single click.
Enabling Legacy Render Layers
Go to Windows – Settings/Preferences – Settings – Rendering – Preferred Render Setup System: Legacy Render Layers.
Restart Maya and it will use render layers instead of the new system.
