UV Mapping Characters
All steps from start to finish are shown and explained well, so you can easily follow along – either by using the provided files or using your own character
Foundation of UV Layouts
We firmly believe that the foundation is more important than the specific tools. UV Mapping Characters starts off with a proper introduction to why you lay out your UVs. A solid foundation will speed up your UV mapping and texturing significantly
Works For Any 3D Package
While we’re using Maya in this series, the principles are all universal and can be followed in most other packages, like Blender, Modo and 3ds Max. We use very few UV tool, where nearly everything is done with Unfold, Layout and Cut Seams tools.
Full UDIM Layout
We cover how to make a full UDIM layout for our character, which is essential knowledge if you’re working with Mari. For films, all characters will use UDIMS, so this will give you a clear edge over your competition.

I like FlippedNormals tutorials because they not only impart useful and reliable information, as well as colorful banter. For some reason unknown to me, I learn quickly from their tutorials. (Don’t forget the Cinema 4D users out here.)
