428 photos of Motukiekie Cliff Cluster

An impressive cluster of cliffs on the Western Coast of New Zealand's South Island. It's been revisited on three consequent days and photo shot in different weather conditions, as well as on high and low tides.

The cliff rock composition is a conglomerate formation. Pebble and sand got compressed and solidified over thousands of years until it got exposed to the sun again. While it does make a false impression of soft dirt with gravel it is, in fact, a hard and solid structure capable of withstanding continuous crush of punishing ocean waves for hundreds of years.
