Camera Shake / Noise Maker

TESTED AND WORKING WITH MAYA 2023 / 2024!

Camera Shake / Noise Maker Tool!

I was fed up with not having a quick and easy / intuitive way of creating noise for camera shakes, noise on objects and wanted to dive into doing a bit more scripting to learn a bit more about Pyside etc.

This is my tool for creating Camera shake / noise on whatever object(s) you have selected.

2 Sliders for amplitude / keyframe spacing for different types of noise (intense camera shake all the way through to soft drone-camera wobble) - just mess with the sliders for the desired results.

The noise is put onto an anim layer named after your object so you have the ability to key this on and off as you see fit.

You also have the ability to only add / change noise based on whichever channel you check (so if you only need translateY to be affected, just check TranslateY etc).

I also wanted to make it more robust with the idea of being able to export user-created curves for repeat use later (imagine creating a nice 'impact shake' and wanting to re-use this impact on a future shot).  You can now just drag-select the timeline, and hit extract keyframes (give it a name) and it should be stored within the 'PRESETS' folder that comes supplied - Best use-case is to bake out the section you want to export, then drag select this section in the timeline and then hit 'extract keyframes
