STW Edge Wear 2 Filter- Substance 3D Designer Tool

Product description

STW Edge Wear 2 Filter- Substance 3D Designer Tool

This node will help you to create detailed edge wear and surface effects for things like bricks, stones, wood, cracks etc. that can look a lot better and less procedural then a simple slope blur. The node will also help you to save time and to maintain a more compact node graph.

Function wise this node applies different filters to large, medium, small and tiny details via 4 different modes that can be chosen individualy for each detail level. Therefore by using different combinations you get virtually unlimited variations for different effects.

Mode 1 is based on Perlin noise, Mode 2 on Gaussian Noise, Mode 3 on a Tile Sampler and for Mode 4 the user has the choice between using an external input or an inverted version of the height input.

Provided are a number of useful presets that can serve as a good starting point. I would also recommend checking out the presets in order to learn a little more about how the settings work. I recommend to reset settings between switching to a different preset because the current SD version seems a bit bugged.

The node was created with Substance Designer Substance Designer 2021.1.2

SBSAR Does not support shape selection in Mode 3! You have to use your own Tile Sampler as a custom input for Mode 4 to get around this.
